DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Katie Messer: “Through The Valley Of Achor”
Week Ten, Day Five
“When you go out to war against your enemies and see horses, chariots, and an army larger than yours, do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with you.” Deuteronomy 20:1 (HCSB)
Regardless of the news, here say, or hidden fears deep inside, the living God of all things still reigns. May we, as the Church, repent and return to our first love–the Lover of our souls….JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. Ladies, it’s just that simple…our hearts need to repent of our lusts, our hatred, our prejudices, our comparisons, our anger, our bitterness, our gossip, our hidden and photo shopped rage, our greed, our love for the world and all the unspoken and unconfessed sin. Ladies, God has better in store for each life than simply “getting by”. Regardless of what a photo may try to convey to the world. May we repent of our own agendas and plans. May we admit our need for the Lord in every second of our lives; not simply the chaotic or crazy ones. For when we determine to seek His will amidst all seasons of life, we will come to grips with the fact that when God is for us, we have the majority—period (Romans 8:31).
Prayer For Today:
Lord Jesus, You reign over the chaos of this life. Teach me to walk in it more this week as I meditate on the teachings of Your Word. Thank You that Your sovereignty is not limited by the darkness of this world. Thank You for allowing me the opportunity to learn to yearn for more of Your guidance and direction in this time. How amazing it is to walk through this season with the victorious God of Israel, the very One who rescued the Israelites from the oppression of the Egyptians. I humbly ask for Your strength as I walk in the reality that You are supreme over any enemy that comes into the life of __________ (name). In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
